[Maybe a little sarcastic, and he definitely didn't even know how futuristic the Quarantine was compared to Val's home world, but of course there was toilet paper. They'd gone over the resources thing a few times by now, and regardless of what technology Val might be expected to be used to at home - Purg was practically prehistoric compared to the advanced technology and daily luxuries found here.]
What's not great value?
[The second text comes after a moment, because he did pause to think about this statement. Sorry Val, he doesn't get the joke.]

The toilet paper. [ Obviously. ]

It's not?
[If she knows a better value she's welcome to point it out, but he's just going to remain lost on this front.]

[He'll take your word for it, Val.]
I never really had to worry about that sort of thing back home.

[ Not having to worry about that sort of thing is generally a good thing in her experience and her experience has not been a level mile. ]

Before Purg we were always on the road. There wasn't much toilet paper shopping. Attollo didn't really have brands for things.

[If anything they were more flexible than Purg's gods which meant Val should have even less of a reason to be so optimistic.]

[ She leans back into her pillow with that thought, glancing at her phone again after a moment. ]
I'd just as soon avoid that sort of thing altogether. Free's free.

Well we don't have to worry about it here, so it doesn't matter.
[Anymore, never again as far as he's concerned. That didn't mean there wasn't a part of him - probably always would be a part of him - that wondered if this place would change too, like Attollo had. Anything was possible, even Purgatorium had seen a fair share of changes, even if not quite so drastic considering Purg was suffering by design and every change had only inflicted more suffering.]

And if this world should find itself subject to gods like those we met in Purgatorium?

[He was just trying to be reassuring Val, don't poke holes in his logic.]

I think I'm going to try to sleep again.
